About

I’m Peter Blake, a design director originally hailing from Devon, now working in Manchester and the north.

My work is hugely varied, from tiny-but-mighty streetfood startups to campaigns for the most recognisable and loved brands in the world. It’s always fun – I aim to find a hook in every brief to keep it feeling fresh and exciting.

I’ve been super busy lately: there’s the chic campaign for an Italian automotive icon; and a sustainability design system for possibly the biggest brand in the world, collaborating with a network of illustrators around the globe. Most recently I’ve had a blast reinvigorating one of the UK’s most famous brand lines.

In work, my passion is for creating bold, outstanding ideas. Outside of work, I’m inspired by creativity of all kinds, from street food to science, and I love it when ideas from different worlds collide, creating new, unexpected offspring.

I’m always thrilled to help the next generation find their place in the design world – I’ve recently hosted portfolio reviews for young creatives at the UK Creative Festival, and judged at the WorldSkills graphic design competition.

In all of this, I have to thank the network of colleagues and collaborators that have contributed to the projects and made them what they are. I’m lucky to have worked with some of the best in the game. You know who you are – let’s keep making amazing work together.

It’s great to be able to share a little bit of what’s kept me busy for the past few years. Enjoy, and feel free to get in touch to let me know if you loved it / hated it / want to see more.

Cheers,
Pete
